Support for Communities
Here in the New Orleans region, we have first-hand experience of how circumstances and fate can totally disrupt life. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the devastation suffered by our friends and loved ones was catastrophic, but through God’s grace and mercy, and with the assistance of people from all over the world, our region has rebuilt itself better than ever. At Parkway, we do all that we can to share that same compassionate ministry and support to people in need, including:
Denominational and Ecumenical Disaster Assistance—check Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the PC(USA)’s denominational agency created to help support those in need by clicking the link above.
Angel Tree Gift Drive—Each Advent, we work with local school administrators to provide Christmas gifts to local families in need.
Backpack Supplies—We have also traditionally been active supporters of our local schools by providing much needed resources to students by stuffing backpacks with supplies.
Twelve-Step and Support Groups—Our congregation hosts a number of twelve-step, recovery, and support groups, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
And more!
