Before & After School Care - Stay & Play

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE: BSC/ASC is available everyday school is in session and is open from 7:30 am until 6 p.m.  For students using ASC, parents will supply a nutritious lunch with a non-carbonated drink. Parkway suggests that you use a variety of menus to assure the  intake of all the required vitamins and minerals.  SODAS, FAST FOODS (i.e. McDonalds), or GLASS CONTAINERS are NOT permitted.  Please include an ice pack in your child’s lunch box to keep any items that need to be kept cool during the school day; unfortunately, we do not have enough refrigeration space for all lunch boxes.  Do not send any food which needs to be heated.  Our licensing will not allow us to heat food.  Specific food guidelines from the State to prevent choking: meatballs need to be cut up or mashed, hotdogs need to be cut up in disc and across again, peanuts must be broken up (high allergy levels), and grapes need to be cut not to have circular disc (not whole).  If we find one of these items which may cause concern we will send it home with the child uneaten.  A snack will be provided for ASC consisting of milk and cookies after nap time.  Parents supply a covered mat, blanket, pillow and stuffed animals.  This is sent home weekly for cleaning.  Please label all belongings with child's name including sleeping items and the outside of lunch kits. Parents must sign the child in when bringing them to Before School Care in Room 2 (Sesame Street) and out when picking up from After School Care, denoting time and any comments.  After the school office closes, call ASC directly at 733-6348.  BSC and ASC students will need to fill out an additional registration card and application form, plus pay a registration fee in advance, in order to use these programs.
